Simple Strawberry-Banana Smoothie

This is my go to weekday smoothie recipe. I love that it has added flax (great for kiddos dealing with constipation), sneaky spinach, and uses ingredients I typically always have on hand.

I like to serve the 16 month old’s in her Pura cup. The straw is large enough for her to easily drink the smoothie, and it’s spill proof! We usually pair smoothies with muffins from the freezer or boiled eggs if we have them.

Simple Strawberry-Banana Smoothie

Serves 2

Ingredients

1 handful of spinach (add to blender first)

1/4 tsp flax

1 cup milk of choice (I use unsweetened pea protein milk for the dairy free littles)

3 frozen strawberries

1/2 frozen banana

Instructions

  1. Add all ingredients to blender or small food processor. Add spinach first to ensure it gets blended smooth.
  2. Blend until smooth. Blend longer than you think strictly necessary to ensure the spinach isn’t chunky.
